Honda's F1 Earth Car
February 28, 2007
The Honda Racing F1 Team announced a cool initiative for the 2007 Formula 1 season. To help raise awareness of the environmental issues facing the planet (i.e. global warming), the RA107 F1 car will feature a huge image of the earth, in place of the advertising and sponsor logos which have featured and dominated F1 cars for decades.
Nigerian E-mail Scams
February 27, 2007
Those Nigerian e-mail scams are becoming increasingly personalized (and potentially dangerous). Today, I received an e-mail "From the Desk of Solicitor John Paul" with the subject: Relative(Papadopoulos).

The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games open in exactly 3 years from today (February 12th). That's a 1096 days left (let's not yet concentrate on the hours, minutes, and seconds)! Too far away to blog (or do something more) about it? Absolutely not!

New Ranking Model for Yahoo! Search Marketing
February 06, 2007
Yesterday, February 5th, Yahoo! Search Marketing launched a new ranking model (only in the U.S. market) which determines an ad's ranking in search results based on the bid amount *and* ad quality (similar to Google's AdWords model).
Weather Conditions and Search Behavior
February 05, 2007
Sometimes I don't know if my ideas are too far fetched or simply innovative (or somewhere in between). However, if I had a bunch of math PhDs and a few billions in the bank (do I need to name the company?) I'd look into the following: how does the weather affect people's Internet search behavior? Also, what kind of search engine marketing and Web analytics tools can potentially be developed as a result of certain trends?
300
February 03, 2007
My friend Niko sent me an e-mail last night with the subject "300". Initially, I thought he was quoting me on a little usability tweak that I asked him for Community-online.com! When I opened the e-mail, however, I realized that it was a link to a movie trailer (judging from the URL path)...

AthleteManagement.com For Sale!
February 01, 2007
With a graduate degree in Sports Management, my very first entrepreneurial attempt was to create an athlete management firm. Unfortunately (or fortunately - time will tell), the business never took off as I got increasingly involved in the Internet marketing industry.
A Quick Look at Google's Financial Results
February 01, 2007
I'm not an expert in the financial markets but I don't think that there are many companies in the world that can report better financial results than Google's. Yesterday, the leading search engine company reported an astonishing rise in fourth quarter sales and profit, with net income nearly tripling to $1.03 billion from $372.2 million for the same period in 2005.
Grape juice as good for the heart as wine: study
February 01, 2007
French scientists announced today that grape juice seems to have the same protective effect against heart disease as red wine. The news comes a day after I told my kids (who love Fruitopia) that my late grand-father Leonidas used to drink a glass of wine every day with his meal and lived 102 years (to be honest I'm not sure if it was red or white). Regardless, there goes my excuse for having a glass of red wine (with dinner, especially in the winter) every other day.
