Greece vs Turkey: A Classic
March 23, 2007
Tomorrow (March 24, 2007) European Football (Soccer) Champions Greece (Hellas) host neighbours Turkey in a most decisive match for the UEFA EURO 2008 Qualifiers (Group C). The game will be played on the eve of Greek Revolution Day (Greek War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire in 1821) at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium (named after the Greek Revolution General). Talk about a classic!

300 Free Movie Tickets: Update
March 09, 2007
In a previous post I mentioned that I'd look into setting up an online contest and give away 300 movie tickets for the movie "300" (courtesy of Community-online.com). We've done something similar in the past for "Herbie: Fully Loaded" and the feedback from all parties involved was very positive.

Web Advertising 2.0
March 07, 2007
Today I came across a recent article by Paul Sloan (Business 2.0 editor at large). The article is titled "The quest for the perfect online ad" and describes how "Web advertisers are moving beyond search, using powerful science to figure out what you want - sometimes before you even know." Very interesting!
Quebec Elections And Search Engine Ad Campaign Pitfalls
March 06, 2007
A recent article by Tristan Péloquin on Lapresse/Cyberpresse titled "Tous les clics mènent au PLQ" (All the clicks lead to PLQ) discusses how Quebec Liberal Party and the other main political parties in the Province use the Internet and Google in order to shape public opinion ahead of the March 26, 2007 elections.
Community-online.com Pick (Part 2)
March 05, 2007
When I see the word "Free" before an Internet offering I try to stay away. Not only because there's usually a catch (which is "explained" in the small print) but mostly because companies that offer free stuff (especially start-ups) close their doors before... the offer expires! Of course, there are always exceptions and one of them is 1&1; today's Community-online.com pick.
Spring Break Alright!
March 02, 2007
Just when I thought that after a relatively snowless (but very cold at times) winter in Montreal spring was finally around the corner, today we had a major snowstorm (30cm of snow)! As a result, most schools were closed and kids had an extra day added to their... spring break which starts next week.
Community-online.com Pick (Part 1)
March 01, 2007
Starting today (March 1, 2007), I'll be profiling Web sites that are part of Community-online.com. Although all 5,000+ sites (and counting) are just a couple of clicks away thanks to an intuitive human edited search directory, it's all about search intent. In other words, you may not know about something that could be useful to you and that's simply because you haven't searched for it. Unless of course you "bump into it". So until we launch a personalized search tool (it's in the works), this blog will put the spotlight on things that you may be interested in but perhaps didn't know about.
