2006 Canadian Online Advertising Tops $1 Billion Dollars

According to the Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada (IAB) Canadian Online Advertising Revenues surged to an unprecedented $1.01 billion dollars in 2006. This represents a 26% increase over the $801 million originally estimated by the IAB for 2006; and an 80% increase over the 2005 actuals of $562 million.

In a special ceremony at the China Millennium Monument in Beijing, the Organizing Committee of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games (BOCOG) announced yesterday (April 26, 2007) the official route of the Olympic Torch Relay and unveiled the design of the Olympic Torch.

Idol Gives Back

In the six years of American Idol mania I must have watched a total of six shows (including the Canadian Idol). Although I like the concept of providing a platform for undiscovered talent (not just in arts but in various sectors), I somewhat lose interest when I miss a show (or two, or ten). The next couple of shows (April 24 & 25), however, are special and am planning to watch them as "Idol Gives Back".
Google To Acquire DoubleClick

Google announced yesterday (April 13, 2007) a definitive agreement to acquire DoubleClick, a global leader in digital marketing technology and services, for $3.1 billion in cash. The acquisition will combine DoubleClick's expertise in ad management technology for media buyers and sellers with Google's leading advertising platform and publisher monetization services. Google's acquisition of DoubleClick is its biggest purchase ever and the first since buying YouTube for $1.65 billion about six months ago.
Olympic Torch Relay Route TBA Soon

The official route of the Torch Relay Program for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will be made public in the near future. The news came yesterday (April 12th, 2007) from the 81st session of the Executive Board of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG).

Beijing 2008 Invites 10 Families To An Olympic Tour

Yesterday (April 9th, 2007), the official website of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, in cooperation with China Mobile, launched the "Olympic Families Tour Beijing" campaign, which will make it possible for ten families (five from China and five from the rest of the world) to tour Beijing and the co-host cities ahead of the Olympic Games.
Google Announces Free In-Home Wireless Broadband Service

Google today announced the launch of Google TiSP, a free in-home wireless broadband service that delivers online connectivity via users' plumbing systems. The Toilet Internet Service Provider (TiSP) project is a self-installed, ad-supported online service that will be offered entirely free to any consumer with a WiFi-capable PC and a toilet connected to a local municipal sewage system.
